Today my sister’s and I awoke to a very foggy and rainy morning. So with the perfect backdrop, we created a “Rainy Day Tea Party”. It was a lovely tea, complete with scones, jam, cute little sugar cubes and hot English Breakfast tea – my favorite!
Here I pour the tea using my favorite teapot from a set Mom and Dad got me for my graduation… isn’t it beautiful? Carley made her famous scones that were delicious as always – she is a wonderful baker.
To the right is me greatly enjoying my tea – and of course the delightful company! My sisters are my favorite people to have tea with… they always make it interesting and fun. (Oh… as you can see I got my hair cut short! It has taken my awhile to get used to it, but I think it is growing on me (get it).)
And below is Courtney and Carley enjoying themselves as usual! It is always so hard for us to stay composed while having tea… we usually burst into laughter before too long!
They both look about ready to laugh!
I am so thankful for my sweet sisters…
they bear through all my tea parties with a grin and giggles. I don’t think they would like tea if it wasn’t for me; they are so gracious.
Well, this was our rainy day tea! I hope you enjoyed and are inspired to have your own tea moments – and share them with your siblings! They bring such delight and fun.

Oh, that looks like such fun! I love your tea set – it really is gorgeous! Those scones look delicious too; would you mind sharing Carley’s recipe?
I’ve been drinking lots of herbal teas lately, but not for the reason I would like exactly…(I’ve been sick)I sure look forward to sipping a nice cup of tea in good health soon!
I enjoyed the post Kaysie! So you have three blogs now? How is it managing all three? God bless!

Hello Kasie!
Thank you for your comment! Your comments are always such a joy to receive.
About the scones, they are actually from a mix – my mom is gluten intolerant and I am lactose intolerant – so it is a special mix that we both can safely enjoy. I will probably post a picture of the mix we use soon, just for the benefit of anyone who is wondering.
I am so sorry you are not feeling well! I too hope you can drink a good cup of tea in good health soon!
Yes, I do have three blogs now (what am I thinking!
) But I feel each one has a specific purpose and are hopefully encouraging the body of Christ and strengthening His people. This blog (the Tea Rose) is kinda my “fun” blog, where I get to post about stuff that is just fun for me and what I enjoy. Also to let my readers get to know me a little better!

What a beautiful tea set. I would enjoy having one too. I bought a cast iron tea kettle when we lived in Japan but never thought to purchase a set such as yours.
How nice to have sisters. I have none except those in the Lord.

So we share another thing in common; food allergies. I am sorry, but thanks to mixes like the one above it mekes like easier and a little more enjoyable!
What are your food allergies? Mine are: Wheat, Dairy, Eggs, Corn, Onions & Tomatoes. For some reason I have developed all of the above in the last year and a half. But I am learning to count it all joy, and to keep rejoicing in my circumstances!

What a lovely tea party.
I think having friends over for tea would be the perfect way to get to know them.

Would love to know what mix that is. Gluten-free, right? They look so much like regular scones. Is it a mix just for scones, or a flour mix that can be used for pancakes, cakes, bread, etc.

Hi Kris, it is The Gluten-Free Pantry company Muffin and Scone Mix. And yes, it makes really great scones!
I haven’t tried to use it to make anything else, but a good gluten-free all purpose mix is Pamela’s mix. We use it for everything. It tastes great.
